  • 1 cup warm water
  • ¼ cup sugar
  • 2 tsp oil or melted coconut oil
  • ½ cup whole wheat flour
  • 1 egg
  • ½ Tbsp salt
  • 3-4 cups unbleached white flour
For the Outside

  6. Tear off chunks (about golf ball size) and roll them into a ball.
  7. Roll dough balls in butter, then in cinnamon and sugar mixture.
  8. Add to a greased shallow dish, or a bundt pan (really, anything works).
  9. Let rise for 30 minutes.
  10. Bake at 350 degrees F for 20 minutes. Ice if desired. Enjoy!
Notes
* If you have egg allergies, you can leave the egg out. It still turns out great.

Nepal Earthquake-Prayer Request and Short Account of Amazing Deliverance

Sing praises to the Lord, which dwelleth in Zion:
 declare among the people His doings.
Psalm 9:11

Please pray for the Nepali people, who are suffering from the massive earthquakes
that (as you likely know) have struck the country of Nepal (Capital city, Kathmandu) on
Saturday.  The largest quake being a magnitude 7.8, and a more recent one being a 6.8,
and also many aftershocks. More than 4,000 people have died, and more are currently
 being searched for.  It is so heartbreaking to see the photos and hear the stories!

However, we are so thankful to the Lord for His wonderful and miraculous
 protection of my sister Grace and her husband Rob, (who are missionaries
to Kathmandu, Nepal) and their children. At the time of the first major
7.8 magnitude earthquake, they were all at church, and God protected them from harm;
glory to His name!  Although they did experience lots of strong shaking, they were
kept safe. What if they had been in the city, with rubble from heavy stone structures
 crashing to the streets below, or what if they they had been in one of the buildings
 that collapsed...but Praise God, He protected and kept them safe!
Psalm 91.

 Isn't it amazing what God does for those who love and obey Him?
 Would you please keep them in your prayers?  For continued safety, wisdom,
 and strength, for today, and in the days ahead, as I'm sure it will be difficult,
amid the upheaval in Kathmandu and surrounding villages.
Thank you for your prayers and concern!

Our help is in the name of the Lord, who made heaven and earth.
Psalm 124:8

Simple Things

Sometimes it's the simple things, that bring a smile to our face.
A friend, a kindness; a memory of a special place.

Above is a picture my sister took of a Canadian goose and her babies,
while we were visiting in the beautiful country of Canada last year. =)

 This photo reminds me of a special childhood memory.
My sisters, brother and I, during the summer months,
 would ride our bikes up to a park, on the outskirts of the town
where we lived. There was a huge spillway, on the far end
of the lake within the park, like the one pictured above.
Canadian geese came often to the lake shore, and we would bring
 bread, and feed it to them-Sometimes they would even
eat the bread crumbs out of our hand!
 Such fun and special memories!

 Every good gift and every perfect gift is from above,
and cometh down from the Father of lights,
with whom is no variableness, neither shadow of turning.
James 1:17

The Light of the World is Jesus

The whole world was lost in the darkness of sin,
The Light of the world is Jesus!
Like sunshine at noonday, His glory shone in;
The Light of the world is Jesus!

 Refrain:
Come to the light, ’tis shining for thee;
Sweetly the light has dawned upon me;
Once I was blind, but now I can see:
The Light of the world is Jesus!

No darkness have we who in Jesus abide;
The Light of the world is Jesus!
We walk in the light when we follow our Guide!
The Light of the world is Jesus!

Ye dwellers in darkness with sin-blinded eyes,
The Light of the world is Jesus!
Go, wash at His bidding, and light will arise;
The Light of the world is Jesus!

No need of the sunlight in Heaven we’re told;
The Light of the world is Jesus!
The Lamb is the Light in the city of gold,
The Light of the world is Jesus!

"Then spake Jesus again unto them, saying,
 I am the light of the world: he that followeth
Me shall not walk in darkness,
 but shall have the light of life."
John 8:12
